Deer At Zion Lodge

  Mule Deer : Odocoileus hemionu 14th September 2020 . Mule deer is one of the 68 species found in the Zion National Park and most photographed mammal. . Free roaming Mule deer at Zion National Park enters the Zion Lodge premises in the evening and graze at the grass lawn in front of the lodge restaurant. The Mule deer is not afraid of the visitors and you can go up close to photograph them. however, the mothers are very protective of the calfs and resent when you come too close to the calfs. . The deer enters the spacious area in front of the Zion lodge in the evening in small groups and it is a sight not to miss by anyone visiting Zion National Park. You can sit at the benches around the small park and gaze at the scene for hours. The deer herd spend the night at the lawn of the lodge under the giant tree at the center. Bear encounter at Sequoia National Park

  Bear encounter at Sequoia National Park at the Giant Forest museum car park.  Sequoia National Park 8th August 2020 Bear encounter. . This is the first time I encountered a bear. . We were about to go to the sunset trail across the car park after visiting the  Giant Forest museum premises (it was closed due to Covid 19). Then after hiking the Beetle rock view point adjacent to the car park we returned to the car park to find our way to the sunset trail. On our way back to the car park we heared a commotion and we saw the bear next to our car. It was trying to open the luggage of a another visitor who has parked next to our car.   . The arrival of the bear was unexpected and those near the bear was shouting and honking to alert others to avoid the area and the foot path that the bear wold be heading to which leads to the meadows and sunset trail. The deer was so close that you could hear the deer munching grass. . California Mule deer can be sighted in close proximity to main attractions in the park and visitors can enjoy their sight very close to the animals. . Mules have populated abundantly inside the park as animals are not hunted inside the national parks.
